Arsenal is reportedly intensifying their efforts to secure a loan deal for Raheem Sterling from Chelsea. This move is fueled by the late interest in Reiss Nelson from multiple Premier League clubs. The Gunners believe that Sterling would offer an upgrade over Nelson, pending mutual agreement in both cases.
While Sterling is reportedly interested in a move to Arsenal, a major stumbling block in reaching an agreement lies in covering his staggering weekly wage of £325,000. Despite having three years left on his contract at Stamford Bridge, Sterling is considered surplus to requirements by Chelsea. Negotiations with Manchester United for a potential swap deal involving Jadon Sancho have proven to be complicated due to salary discrepancies.
Amidst interest from Juventus and other clubs, Arsenal remains a contender for Sterling’s signature. Manager Mikel Arteta previously distanced the club from pursuing Sterling, but recent developments suggest a shift in stance.
