The Contenders for PFA Men’s Player of the Year 2023-24 Season

The PFA men’s Player of the Year shortlist for the 2023-24 season has been revealed, with Manchester City’s trio of Erling Haaland, Phil Foden, and Rodri leading the pack. Haaland, who clinched his second consecutive Golden Boot last season with an impressive tally of 27 league goals, has been a standout performer for City. Foden, a two-time Premier League Young Player of the Year award winner, has already scooped up the Premier League’s Player of the Season and the Football Writers’ Player of the Season accolades. Arsenal’s Martin Ødegaard and Chelsea’s Cole Palmer have also been included in the shortlist for the prestigious PFA Player of the Year award. Ødegaard, who joined Arsenal from Real Madrid, has been instrumental in the Gunners’ midfield, showcasing his talent and creativity. Meanwhile, Palmer has enjoyed a remarkable debut campaign at Stamford Bridge, contributing with 22 goals and 11 assists. Aston Villa and England striker Ollie Watkins completes the list of nominees for the PFA Men’s Player of the Year award. Watkins played a pivotal role in helping Aston Villa secure a spot in the Champions League for the first time since the 1982-83 season.
