Galatasaray has shown interest in signing Anthony Martial on a free transfer from Manchester United. The 28-year-old striker recently departed from Old Trafford after spending nine years with the club. Martial, who is now a free agent, will need to reconsider his wage demands if he wishes to make the move to the Turkish champions.
Sources have revealed that Martial would have to agree to a reduced salary in order to secure a deal with Galatasaray. The Frenchman’s last season at Manchester United was marred by various injury issues, limiting him to just 13 Premier League appearances. Despite this, Martial has an impressive record of 90 goals in 317 games for the club, with his last goal coming in a 3-0 victory over Everton.
Current Situation at Manchester United
Meanwhile, Manchester United is in talks with Jonny Evans and Tom Heaton regarding contract extensions. Evans, who played a key role in the team last season, has the option to leave for free this summer. However, discussions are ongoing for a potential new deal. Similarly, third-choice goalkeeper Heaton is also in negotiations with the club for an extension.
In addition to Evans and Heaton, Manchester United has offered a new contract to young talent Omari Forson. Despite making his senior debut last season, Forson is expected to depart the club this summer. United’s contract offer to Forson ensures that the club will receive compensation if he agrees to join another team.
Furthermore, discussions are underway with youth prospect Shola Shoretire for a new contract. However, the club has confirmed the departure of former Tottenham and England midfielder Tom Huddlestone after his two-year role as an Under-21 player-coach at Manchester United.
While Galatasaray’s interest in Anthony Martial presents an exciting opportunity for the striker, he will need to be flexible with his salary demands. On the other hand, Manchester United is actively working on contract extensions for current players and young talents, ensuring a solid foundation for the upcoming seasons.
